Description
This architectural abstract of the Milwaukee Art Museum on a cloudy day shows a small portion of the Burke Brise Soleil, a moveable sunscreen with a wingspan of 217 feet in open position. At night and during inclement weather it folds over the spacious Windhover Hall in the Quadracci Pavilion, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. It opened in 2001 as an addition to an existing building which houses the majority of the permanent collection of the museum. Copyright 2016 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
