Description
Standing outside the gate and looking past its unique lamppost, we saw that the Union Jack, flag of England, was flying atop Buckingham Palace as a sign that the monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, was not in residence. Had she been there, it would have been replaced by the Royal Standard, the official flag of the reigning monarch. Copyright 2007 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Thanks, Kevin. Your insightful comment makes me look at this image at the front of Buckingham Palace differently.
