Description
Three buildings tower alongside the Chicago River, each displaying its own unique style of architecture. From left to right, as seen from the river on a gray sky sort of day: one of the 61-story twin towers of Marina City (1967), whose semicircular balconies are part of a complex which includes residences, parking, marina, shops, and restaurants; 330 N. Wabash (1971), the last building designed in the austere, minimialist aesthetic of Modernism by Mies van der Rohe before his death in 1969; and the Trump International Hotel and Tower (2009), which is the tallest structurally concrete building in the world and rises to 90 stories.
