Description
The Fort Gratiot Light, constructed in 1829, was the first to be built on Lake Huron. It is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Michigan. Now automated, it still serves as a beacon to Great Lakes freighters entering the St. Clair River from Lake Huron. Copyright 2018 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
