Description
Plants of the Bible is the theme of 33 stained and faceted glass windows in the Cedars of Lebanon Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum in Cincinnati, Ohio. This particular stained glass window illustrates an unbiblical story that says that Jesus was crucified on a dogwood tree and that the dogwood would never again grow large enough to be used as a cross. Founded in 1846, Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum is the second largest cemetery in the United States and is designated a National Historic Landmark. Copyright 2016 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Ann, this is gorgeous! My grandmother gave me a beautiful cedar box with a picture of the dogwood and legend many years ago ;)
