Description
The Wawatam Lighthouse in St. Ignace, Michigan was built in1998 outside the Welcome Center in Monroe, Michigan near the border of Ohio, far from navigable waters. Moved in 2006 to the Upper Peninsula, it is now a U.S. Coast Guard station, its automated light guiding mariners in summer and snowmobilers in winter as they travel to and from Mackinac Island and other areas bounding the Straits of Mackinac. Ann this is such an amazing photo! I just love how the red railing just pops out against the blue of the sky and the water! LF
