Description
The row of small houses built against the north wall of Prague Castle in the 16th century originally housed castle guards. Over the years servants, goldsmiths (hence Golden Lane), tradespeople and several writers including Franz Kafka, and the poor lived here. Sixteen of the houses have been restored, nine furnished as they would have been for people who once lived and worked in them. Seven are shops, one of which is number 17. Czech Republic.
