Description
Windhover Hall is a major part of the Quadracci Pavilion designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatravas and opened in 2001 as an addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum. Its large window, which looks out on Lake Michigan, is seen here on a winter day when ice and snow covered it almost as far as the eye could see. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Copyright 2016 Ann Horn. Perfect presentation, Ann! The young girl really makes this image, and allows the viewer to conceptualize the size of this stunning architecture! Well done! l/f

Thank you for your gracious response, Deb. I have found that the lines, angles... in short. the geometry used creatively by many architects these days is fascinating. This was my second visit to the Milwaukee Art Museum. I returned to see the art inside the MAM which I had not seen on my first visit because I spent most of my time taking photos of the building. This time I did see the fine collection of art, but as you can see I found still more intriguing architectural abstracts to capture.

Ann, even though I've never considered myself drawn by modern day architecture - I find Santiago Calatravas's designs so appealing, almost intoxicating. Your brilliant photography work with it's lines, POV and lighting values has changed the way I perceive this now. Thank you for the gift of seeing and valuing things differently!
