Description
An evening afterglow illumines treetops, evoking for me feelings of hope after an already long winter. Hence, the original text: in winter woods / dusk's sparse light / nurtures hope. Many thanks for your kind comment, Debbie. I think, however, by the looks of things we will have to cultivate patience while hoping for spring.

Tara and Patricia, thanks so much for returning to comment on this revision. To my chagrin, I discovered late last night that I had spelled one of the words in the poem incorrectly... and there are only eight words! Sparse spelled as sparce just wouldn't do, so I took the original down, then redid and reposted it.
