Description
The Shard was a new London icon in the making when this photo was taken on June 8, 2012. Evidence of construction was all around. The 87 story multi-use skyscraper is now London's tallest building at 1,004 feet (306 meters). In 2014, which was my last visit to England, I took the lift to the viewing area, which is the highest in London, and enjoyed the marvelous view of the River Thames, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, and the city beyond. Many thanks for your gracious comment, Tavi. I do hope you will be able to see London from the Shard's heights some day. Should be quite a sight!
