Description
"I can see right through you," the saying goes. That is certainly true of the Broad-tipped Clearwing (Pteronymia cotytto). Its transparent wings make the butterfly difficult to find. Here it flies in the conservatory among tropical plants and has landed on an artificial 'flower' in the butterfly house at Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Copyright 2007 Ann Horn.
