Description
Its stem no longer able to support its petals, a beautiful narcissus bows low. The genus Narcissus was named for the youth of Greek mythology who was so proud and enamored of himself that he could love no other. Instead, he fell in love with his reflection in a pool and, not realizing that it was his own image, continually stared at it and finally drowned in it. This is the origin of the word narcissism.
