Description
The South Pierhead Light in South Haven, Michigan is at the entrance to the Black River from Lake Michigan. It was established in 1872 and is still operational. Seen here from South Beach is its present tower, built in 1009. The catwalk, which links the lighthouse to the shore, is one of four remaining in Michigan. Copyright 2016 Ann Horn. Thanks for revisiting this image of a lighthouse which I never cease to enjoy revisiting when I am on the west side Michigan. Much appreciated, Morris.
