Description
After climbing the spiral steps to the top of the dome of the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur, tourists enjoy a rest and the view of the city. The basilica was built on the highest point in Paris as a memorial to French soldiers killed during the Franco-Prussian War (1870-71). It took 46 years to build and was completed in in 1923. Thank you very much for your kind comment, Emmy. My son was in the dome when I took this photo. He thinks it is his elbow and arm that can be seen on the window ledge.

Stunning capture and POV! This is one of my favorite buildings in Paris. My Dad and I use to go at nighttime. Great up close, detailed capture. L/Fav.

Beautifully composed, Ann....and the patterns and design of the basilica are gorgeous. The monochromatic colour scheme is also so appealing and restful to the eye! L
